It’s all quiet in a street on the outskirts of San Francisco. All the houses are different in appearance and most are set a way back from the road. One entrance stands out from the others, Large black, iron gates, with one large, muscular man, with no hair, dressed all in black stood outside. Security.
The driveway of this property is a long one. It winds its way down the hill slope a little, before opening out at the front of the house. At this end of the driveway sits a large, black Mercedes SUV, with blacked out windows and alloy wheels.
There’s nothing special looking about this house now, now we’re past the security guy, and the nice car. It’s just a house, big, box like, brick, the lights are all out, and it’s dark.
Around the house are a number of trees, all different, adding to the privacy of the occupant. Around the back of the house the land opens out again onto a large, well kept lawn, with trees surrounding it. The lawn leads down to a fence at the bottom, over looking the sea. From here we can see the whole of the back of the house, much the same as the front but without a large door in the center. At one side of the back of this house is a small, trellised area, containing a table and a few chairs and a hot tub. This house has no swimming pool, unusual for this street. Looking up at the back of the house, we can see a dim light from a top bedroom. Someone’s awake.
It’s 3 am.
The window is open and the curtains aren’t drawn. The figure on the bed is curled up, alone. The bed is huge, covered in soft linens and large pillows. Suddenly the door opens slightly and a small dark coloured dog walks in, the figure on the bed sits up and welcome the dog into his arms. He hugs the dog tightly, lovingly. The man wears a pair of boxers and a tight T-shirt, which shows the hours he’s put in at the gym recently. His hair is untidy, dark brown, with bad dirty blonde roots. He runs his hand through it. He’s crying, sobbing, uncontrollably. He rubs his eyes with the back of his hand.
“You love me don’t you Wally?” He says, holding the dog close.
